Alcohol Awareness Week 1 – 7 July 2024

Date: Monday, 01st Jul 2024 | Category: Uncategorised

Join us to raise awareness of the harm caused by alcohol and to learn more about the role that alcohol plays in our society.

Alcohol Awareness Week aims to educate others about the impact alcohol can have on health and wellbeing and promoting healthy drinking habits.

Public Health works with The Beacon (provided by Change Grow Live) that offers free and confidential support for young people and adults in Walsall who misuse alcohol or drugs. They also support friends, families, and carers affected by other people’s substance misuse.

Other services are available for residents to access for support with alcohol including YMCA The Glebe Centre and SMART Recovery sessions (provided by The Beacon).

This week, The Beacon are holding drop-in health checks on Wednesday 3 July from 10am to 12pm at Unit 4, The Quarter in Walsall Town Centre. Health checks will be carried out by trained nurses and may include blood pressure, heart rate and temperature checks, as well as a basic physical examination. The health checks are open to the public.
